Hortense Marie Groo Whitaker, 79, died Saturday, December 17 at the Pocatello Regional Medical Center. She was born June 24, 1904 in St. Charles to Howard Hunter and Pricilla Clark Groo. The family moved to Montpelier when she was an infant where she attended schools. She was a member of the Montpelier High School class of 1922, however she did not graduate.  She was a member of the LDS Church.  She married Secyl Fenton Whitaker December 1, 1923 in Paris, Idaho.  After living in Declo for a short time they moved back to Montpelier where they had since resided.  Survivors include her husband, two daughters, a son and 13 grandchildren.  Funeral services were held at Matthews Mortuary Chapel.  Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
