Merrill Nate Lewis, 72, died Tuesday, April 2 in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City following open heart surgery.  He was born February 11, 1919 in Dingle to George Thomas and Calla Booth Lewis.  He graduated from Montpelier High School then attended a school of carpentry at Weiser and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad Signal Department.  He married Ramona Jensen May 23, 1942 in Seattle.  The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on September 26, 1950.  He served in World War II.  He was an active member of the LDS Church. He is survived by his wife, five children and 12 grandchildren.  Funeral services were held in the Montpelier Stake Center.  Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
