Harold Nate - Class of 1932

Harold "Ted" Eugene Nate, 76, died Sunday, January 21 in the Bear Lake County Nursing Home.  He was born April 18, 1913 at Dingle to Charles C. and Mae Bird Nate.  He married Norma Jonely March 4, 1934.  She died December 3, 1966.  He married Phyllis Scott June 27, 1967.  He graduated from Montpelier High School.  He was a hereford rancher at the Nate Ranch and between 1934 and 1943 was a salesman for Sunkist Fruits of Los Angeles, California. He was a president of a Moose Lodge and enjoyed playing Santa Claus.  He received numerous awards for safe flying in Idaho and was instrumental in getting the Bear Lake airport operable.  His hobbies included fishing, hunting, reading history and especially flying.  He also made his own flies for fishing  He is survived by one daughter.  Burial will be at the Montpelier Cemetery.
