Jennie Murphy (Roberts) - Class of 1925

Jennie Adell Murphy Roberts, 83, died February 19, 1992 in the Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Facility in Montpelier due to natural causes.  She was born on May 6, 1908 the sixth child of George David Murphy and Edith Rosamond Langford Murphy.  She first attended school in Pegram then Montpelier, Salt Lake City and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1925.  She graduated from Paramount Beauty College in Los Angeles in 1929.   She later had formal training in accounting.  She married Chauncey Richard Roberts October 19, 1929 in Paris.  Most of their life was spent in Cokeville where she was secretary and bookkeeper for the family construction business.  She was a talented musician as well as poet and author.  She fulfilled a mission for the LDS Church in the California San Diego Mission at the age of 72, entering the mission home on February 11, 1980.  She was preceded in death by her husband February 19, 1978.  She is survived by two sons, two daughters and twenty one grandchildren.
