Donald Dayton Smedley, 64, died November 15, 1992 in Cheyenne.  He was born August 15, 1928 in Dingle to Edward Franklin and Sarah Permelia Nate Smedley.  He graduated from Montpelier High School and was a member of the LDS Church.  He married Maxine Stephens on June 24, 1949 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  He retired from the mining industry in 1990.  He is survived by two daughters and one son along with eight grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held Friday in the Matthews Mortuary Chapel in Montpelier.  Burial will be in the Dingle Cemetery.
