Fred Hunzeker - Class of 1926

Fredrick William Hunzeker, 89, died Saturday, August 30, 1997 at the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in Montpelier from complications from pneumonia.  He was born January 1, 1908 in Montpelier Canyon to Fredrick and Lilian Emiline Tueller Hunzeker.  He was the second of six children.  He had two brothers and three sisters.  He graduated from high school and seminary in Montpelier in 1926.  He married Ida May McFarland June 19, 1944 in the Logan LDS Temple.  Fred loved working on the family ranch.  He was a hard worker.  He loved sports especially baseball.  He was an active member of the LDS Church and was a High Priest at the time of his death.  He had served as Elder's Quorum President and a counselor in the Bishopric and served a mission in the Western States Mission.  He was director and president of the West Fork Irrigation Company.  He is survived by 6 sons and 21 grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 3.  Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary.
