Marjorie Hanson (Leeper) - Class of 1947

Marjorie Hanson Leeper, 69, resident of the Dalles, Oregon died after a sudden illness in Vancouver Monday December 14,1998.  

Marge was born January 20, 1929 in Montpelier the youngest of eight children to James Victor and Effie Mae (Perkins) Hanson.  She grew up and graduated from high school in 1947 in Montpelier. She married Gerald Leon Leeper on October 24, 1948 in Montpelier. They moved to the Dalles in 1950 after Jerry completed his degree in pharmacy. Marge worked as a school librarian at District 9's Chenowith Middle School and Wahtonka High School. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a former member of Delta Sigma Phi.  She enjoyed flower arranging, reading, the beach and people. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Clifford and Rhonda Leeper of Evansville, In and Greg and Karen Leeper of Portland; seven grandchildren Scott, Eric, Brent, Sara, Jacob, Erin and Sam Leeper; her sister Helen Kunz of Montpelier and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, in April 1989  and her other siblings. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 19. Interment was at the Dalles Parklawn cemetery.
