Rednil Reiber - Class of 1951

Classmate Charles Whitman (MHS Class of 1951) on January 16, 2015 reported on the passing of Renil Reiber. "Rednil was born on October 27, 1932 and passed away on April 25, 2014. He was one of my best friends from first and second grades and then all of high school. He lived next door to my grandparents on Jefferson St. The memorial on 'Find A Grave' says, in part: 'Rednil enlisted with the US Navy in September 1951 and served on the USS Bisbee and the USS New Port. He left military in 1959. He moved to Anchorage in 1964. He was married for 29 1/2 years He loved to read, play crossword puzzles and enjoyed company of his wife.'

"The family said, 'Rednil was always very quick with a joke. He loved his family very much; he was an amazing man and will be greatly missed by his loved ones.'

"He is buried at Fort Richardson National Cemetery, Anchorage Borough, Alaska, plot R 403. His mother's maiden name was Linder. They named him her maiden name spelled backward, Rednil."
