Peggy Smith (Sower) - Class of 1950

Peggy Lou (Smith) Sower of Salt Lake City, Utah, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all, passed away February 10, 2018, at age 85.  She was born to Vern and Elaine Smith in Montpelier, Idaho May 27, 1932.  Peggy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a very strong testimony of Jesus Christ, which she shared often with her friends and family.  She held many positions in the church and enjoyed leading a family home evening group in St George Utah for over 15 years, which always had a special place in her heart.  Two things she held near and dear to her heart were her faith in God and her children.  She was blessed with four children.  Craig, Cindy, Brett, and Tammy.  Her good influence was far reaching and embraced by so many.  Peggy had a passion of reading, travel, and celebrating any and all holidays.  An adventurer at heart, she went skydiving on her 70th birthday and wanted to do it over and over again.  She loved her cats, scriptures, and playing in the Legacy Kazoo Band.  She was a very generous person to all.  She enjoyed going on roller coasters with her grandkids, and going to StarCons (she was a true Trekkie).  She was extremely patriotic and supported her husband, daughter, grandson, and great-grandson in their military service.  She was extremely patriotic and loved this country.  She was preceded in death by her father Vern Smith, and mother Elaine Smith of Montpelier, Idaho.  She is survived by her sister Jeannine, of Aloha, Oregon, her children Craig (Mitsuko), Cindy (Allen), Brett (Lucy), Tammy, 13 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.  There will be viewings on Friday February 16 at Schwab-Matthews Mortuary 702 Clay St. Montpelier, Idaho from 6-8 p.m., and Saturday February 17 at 9:30 a.m. at the LDS Chapel 340 North 6th St. Montpelier, Idaho.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Montpelier, Idaho Cemetery.
