Charles Kunz - Class of 1951

Charles Clark Kunz, 65, died Friday, February 5, 1999 at the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in Montpelier.  He was born August 12, 1933 in Bern the sixth child of Heber C. and Marie Clark Kunz.  He graduated from Montpelier High School and attended Utah State at Logan where he was in the Lambda Delta Sigma Fraternity.  He served a mission in the Southwest Indian Mission and also to the Southern States.  Charles married Eilene Smith of Randolph, Utah on December 21, 1962 in the Logan LDS Temple.  He was an active member of the LDS Church and had served as Sunday School President and Counselor for 18 years, MIA president and counselor, High Priest Group Leader and home teacher.  He was on the Farm Home Committee for many years and was appointed by the Governor of Idaho to be on the Bern Cemetery board.  He loved his cattle, ranching, farming and nature.  His hobbies included restoring old tractors, traveling, snowmobiling and four-wheeling.  Charles and Eilene were in the Indian Placement Program.  Funeral services were held Monday, February 8 in the Bern Chapel.  Burial was in the Bern Cemetery under the direction of the Matthews Mortuary.
