Fred Hymas - Class of 1968

Fred S. Hymas, 50, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000 in Montpelier, Idaho following a long illness.
Fred was born on Nov. 25, 1949 in Soda Springs, Idaho to Don Lee Hymas and Betty Larsen Hymas. He attended school in Montpelier, and was proud to be a member of the first graduating class of Bear Lake High School.

He married Beverly Allred on Feb. 14, 1970. They were later divorced.

He served honorably as a veteran of the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was awarded several medals. He had lived and worked in Green River and Rock Springs, Wyoming for many years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed nothing more than being with his friends at a favorite fishing hole or hunting spot.

Fred is survived by his son, Mark Hymas of Pocatello, Idaho; a brother, Larry and Connie Hymas of Montpelier; one nephew, Eric and Misty Hymas of Montpelier; his stepfather, Joseph Lewis of Montpelier; and good friends Harvey and Carol Jones of Green River, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 4 at noon in the Montpelier LDS Chapel, located at 585 N. Eighth St., where friends may call that morning from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., and burial will be in the Montpelier Cemetery, with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier.
