Ferreld Rasmussen - Class of 1932

Ferreld D. Rasmussen, 48, died suddenly of a heart ailment at his home on a Sunday in April, 1963.  He was born June 3, 1914 at Wardboro, the son of Joseph and Annie Jensen Rasmussen.  He attended elementary schools in Montpelier and graduated from Montpelier High School with the class of 1932.  He entered yard service employment for Union Pacific Railroad as a fireman and was promoted to engineer in 1941.  He was a World War II veteran in the Engineer Corps and participated in the Battle of the Bulge.  He was a member of the LDS Church.  He and Ruth Tobin were married May 17, 1942 in Montpelier.  Besides his widow he is survived by twin daughters.  Funeral services were held in the Montpelier Third-Fifth Ward Chapel.  Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
