Genevieve Jensen (Lyons Carlson) - Class of 1933

Genevieve Jensen Lyons Carlson, 85, passed away suddenly of a stroke on Feb. 23, 2001.

She was born Nov. 20, 1915, in Fairview, Wyo., to Joseph J. Jensen and Emma Isabella McGavin. She was the fifth child in a family of seven children, and had four brothers and two sisters.

She married Max Farrington Lyons on Aug. 29, 1933. They lived in the Bear Lake area and raised two sons. Max passed away Feb. 3, 1968. Genevieve and Melvin J. Carlson were married June 30, 1972. They lived in Tremonton, Utah, and together operated Carlson's Paint and Glass for 15 years. Mel passed away Jan. 12, 1994.

She was an active member of the LDS Church. She and Melvin served a mission in St. Louis, MO. She held many church positions and enjoyed doing temple work.

She is survived by a son, ..... of Logan; daughter-in-law .... of Provo; step-daughter .... of Westminster, Colo; six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Lyons, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Bridgerland Park 1st Ward, 825 N. 200 West, Logan. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Montpelier City Cemetery.
