LaMar Wright - Class of 1935

Oliver LaMar Wright, 86, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2004 in Washington, Utah.

Born December 18, 1917 to Oliver Winfield and Lillias Speirs Wright in Bennington, Idaho. He attended school in Bennington and Montpelier, graduated from Montpelier High School and continued his education at Utah State Agricultural College in Logan. He served in an Amphibian Truck Company in the South Pacific during World War II and went in on the invasion of the Philippines. He retired as a master printer from Deseret Press.

On May 3, 1942, he married Maynetta Vance Wright in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on May 3, 1961. They are the parents of four children: Janet May (Mont) Pullan, Taylorsville, Utah; Kenneth Lamar (Gail) Wright, Beaverton, Oregon; Becky Lyn (John) McKenzie, Taylorsville, Utah; and Julie Ann (Gordon) Pond of Kapolei, Hawaii.

He is survived by his wife, children, nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and by brother and sisters: Genevieve (Don) Macbeth, Pocatello, Idaho, Lee (Darla) Wright, Georgetown, Idaho, Kathleen (Dwight) Cochran, Montpelier, Idaho.

Preceded in death by his parents and two infant siblings.

Services will be held Saturday, February 21 2004, at 11 a.m. in the Red Ledge Ward, 807 West Capilla Street, Washington, Utah. Viewing one hour before service. Additional Services on Monday, February 23, 2004 at 12 Noon in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Chapel, 10600 South 1900 East, Sandy, Utah. Viewings will be held Sunday, February 22, 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Monday. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
