Ira Ray Kunz, 61, a longtime local businessman, died at St. Anthony Community Hospital early Saturday December 30, 1978,  He was born July 6, 1917, in Bern to David J. and Emma Caroline Kunz. He spent his early life in Bern, where he attended schools. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1935. February 8, 1947, he married Sue Wyler in Kernmerer, Wyo. In 1950 they came to Pocatello and operated businesses here for 26 years. He retired two years ago. He was a member of BPO Elks No 674. He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Mrs Myrna Rocha, Stockton, Calif,; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two sisters. Mrs. Helen (Nora) Hancock, Caldwell, and Mrs Thiel (Ethel) Johnson, Bear River City, Utah. Funeral service were conducted Tuesday, January 2, 1979, at 1 p.m in the Downard Chapel by Elks No. 674, James Collings, exalted ruler. Burial was in Mountainview Cemetery under the direction of Downard Funeral Home.
