Joseph Spidell - Class of 1938

Joseph Franklin Spidell, 67, died Saturday at his home following an extended illness.  He was born January 12, 1920 at Pocatello to Henry Franklin and Nellie Greaves Spidell.  He grew up in Montpelier graduating from Montpelier High School in 1938.  He married Jennie LaRue Michaelson on July 18, 1940 in Logan, Utah.  He was a construction worker until he enlisted in the US Navy in November 1943.  Following two years in the service he spent the rest of his life as a carpenter in the Bear Lake Valley.  He was a member of the LDS Church.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling and snowmobiling.  He is survived by his wife, two daughters and three grandchildren.  Funeral services were at the Montpelier First Ward Chapel.  Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
