Charles Arthur Rowland - Class of 1939

MONTPELIER -- Charles Arthur Rowland, 50, died Thursday, 29 June, 1972 at his home of a heart ailment. He was born Aug. 18, 1921 in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho to Frederick Thomas and Hannah Pitcher Rowland. He was married to Dorothy Larsen in the Logan LDS Temple on Sept. 21, 1943. Mr. Rowland had been associated with his brothers in the laundry and dry cleaning business for many years. He also worked in the state of Washington and Ogden, Utah before joining his brothers in the family business. He attended the University of Idaho for one year. He held many positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was active in the Loyal Order of Moose. Survivors included his widow, Dorothy, of Montpelier, two sons, Brian Thomas, Montpelier, and Charles Ronald Rowland, serving in the U.S. Navy; three daughters, Linda (Leavitt), Oxnard, Calif.; Charlotte (Hansen), Salt Lake City, and Dorothy Marian Rowland, Montpelier; three brothers, Edward Jex, James Henry, and Robert Richard Rowland, all of Montpelier; three grandchildren
