I worked in construction until the fall of 1960 and then served an LDS mission in southern California from September 1960 through September 1962. Upon returning home, I attended Ricks College and BYU. I put myself through school by working at The Village Sports Den in Provo, Utah, owned by Eugene Jones, another graduate of Montpelier High School. During summers I worked in construction for Ref Chem located in Soda Springs, Idaho. Upon graduation from BYU, I started teaching at Bear Lake Jr. High in Paris, Idaho, and taught math, PE, and coached the ninth grade athletic teams. While teaching I met my future wife, who was teaching English at the same school. Lyndell Dixon and I were married in the spring of 1972. We have seven sons and twenty grandchildren. Some are around us in Utah, but others are located in Georgia, Idaho, and Washington.
I left Bear Lake to work at BYU in 1979. I earned a Masters of Arts Degree in 1987. I worked on the administrative staff for twenty eight years, and retired in 2007. We have traveled some, but mostly we enjoy being home where we are often entertained by our grandchildren.
