Smith Aland - Class of 1925

Albert Smith Aland, 75, passed away June 8, 1981 at the home of his daughter in Salt Lake City.  He was born November 21, 1905 at Bloomington, Idaho to John Albert and Mary Jane Smith Aland.  He married Anna May Winn June 12, 1931 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  He was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many positions during his life.  He worked as a telegrapher for the Union Pacific Railroad for 42 years retiring in May of 1970.  He had worked in Pegram, Sun Valley, Bancroft, Opal Wyoming and Montpelier during his railroad career.  He was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors.  He is survived by his wife along with four sons and 31 grandchildren  Funeral services were held in the Montpelier Stake Center.  Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
