Frederick Miller - Class of 1931

Fred Miller, 61, well known Montpelier builder, died at 12:30 a.m., Thursday at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are being made for services in the Third-Fifth Ward chapel.

Funeral services for Fredrick Mondell Miller, 61, were at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Montpelier LDS Third-Fifth Ward Chapel with Bishop Earl R. Wilcox conducting. (details for funeral service followed)

Mr. Miller, a carpenter and builder, and resident of Montpelier for about 25 years, died suddenly of a heart ailment, last Thursday in the Bear Lake County Memorial Hospital.

A son of John G. and Mary Inglis Miller, he was born June 10, 1909 at Tyghee, Idaho. He attended schools at Tyghee and Afton, Wyoming and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1931. He operated the Miller ranch at Tyghee until moving to Montpelier.

Mr. Miller and Murline Bird were married June 26, 1946 in Dingle, and the ceremony was solemnized May 20, 1965 at the temple in Logan. He was a member of the LDS Church, active in the MIA and served as assistant scoutmaster for 12 years. He was also active in community and school affairs.

Besides his widow he is survived by two children, Mrs. Richard (Dannia) Lloyd of Pocatello and John G. Miller, now fulfilling a mission for the LDS Church in Mexico; one grand-daughter; six brothers and two sisters, John R. Miller and Denman H. Miller, both of Yuma, Arizona; Clarence Miller and Gordon Miller, both of Afton; Ronald Miller of Boise; Grant Miller of Livingston, Montana; Mrs. Everett Pearson of Spokane, Washington and Mrs. W.S. Freeman of Montpelier.
