(1973) Dear Fern & Classmates of ‘31:

I was delighted to receive the invitation for the Class Reunion of Montpelier High School Class of ‘31. Please thank Eveline Egli for getting my address and forwarding the invitation to me.

I regret I will be unable to attend our reunion in August. I would dearly love to see all of our old classmates and hear about their lives since leaving “Pelier High.” If you should have an extra copy of the booklet you are compiling please send me one, I would appreciate it greatly.

It seems incredible that I have made my home in El Paso these past 26 years, since August of 1947. To begin with, I completed a 2 year college level course in Business Administration in 15 months, then worked for the City of El Paso for about 9 months before coming to Fort Bliss to begin my Civil Service Career, in August of 1949. I was with The Inspector General for 14 years, then 3 years with the Intelligence Corps, and am now Secretary to the Chief of Staff, United States Army Air Defense School and Center, here at Fort Elias. I hope to retire next year, August 1974, with 25 years Civil Service. After retirement I plan to travel. I have one daughter, Sandra, she married a Texan, Ray Hill, in 1958, and they have two adorable little girls, Stacey 12, and Shannon 9. My granddaughters are the delight of my life, both are top swimmers and members of the Sun City Swim Club, the El Paso Tennis Club and Horseback Riding Academy. Ray is with the Council of Governments here in El Paso, and has been in government work since their marriage. I am happy to have them back in El Paso after 6 years in government work out of the state of Texas.

Give my best to all of the Class of 31, and if any of you are ever down Texas way, look me up, I am in the telephone book.
