(1973) My 1ife hasn’t been very eventful, but it has been a happy life. Cliff and I were married June 20, 1931. We have five children, three girls and two boys. They are married and live in Idaho, making it possible for us to see them frequently, which we enjoy. We also have 12 grandchildren, ranging in ages from 16 to 2 years.

During the early years we lived in the Montpelier area where Cliff rode cattle range and worked at whatever job he could get. Money was hard to come by, but we were happy and the babies were healthy.

In l94l Cliff hired out as a fireman on the railroad. In 1949 we moved to Pocatello, where Cliff continued to work for the railroad. At different times I worked at various kinds of work, including sales clerk, waitress, sewing draperies for an interior decorating shop, and helped operate Bidwell’s Motel for 18 months and Colonial Motel for 1 year.

In December of 1959 we moved to Nampa. By this time the girls were married and we had two boys at home, both attending high school. I worked at Simplot’s for a short time, then in September 1960, I decided to do something more useful and constructive. I enrolled in a class at Mercy Hospital to become a licensed practical nurse. Thanks to our youngest son, Paul, who helped me study and to our other son, Kenneth, who was a very efficient dishwasher, to both of them for doing their own ironing and Cliff who cooperated many ways, I was able to pass State Board and graduate in September 1961, thirty years after high school graduation. I worked on surgical floor at Mercy Hospital, at Nampa State School, and also some special duty until I was forced to quit on account of my health. I was happy to say health is somewhat better now.

In November 1968 we moved to Glenns Ferry and recently to Pocatello again. Next year Cliff will retire and we plan on going back to our home in Glenns Ferry, where he can have horses to ride. We will do some rock hunting, travel a little, and grow older together.
