(1973) After graduating from Montpelier High, I farmed until the fall of 1938, when I enrolled at the San Francisco College of Embalming (now S. F. College of Mortuary Science), graduating from there in June 1939.

I married Nellie Mae Hall of Bennington, in the Salt Lake L. D. S. Temple May 29, 1935. Our two daughters, Anne and Renee, were born in Bennington April 25, 1936 and May 11, 1938.

I served my two years of apprenticeship at Bey Mortuary, Mountain Home, Idaho, and received my Idaho Funeral Director’s License. Our eldest son, John, was born there May 24, 1941.

I then went to LaGrand, Ore., at Snodgrass Funeral Home, and while there I obtained my Oregon License. In Sept. 1943, I went to Payne Mortuary, Burley, for 2 ½ yrs.

I left this business for 2 ½ yrs. and worked as Dist. Manager for Johns—Manville Insulation; then moved to Wendell Idaho, where we built, owned and operated our own “Weaver Mortuary” for twenty—one years. We also operated an ambulance 24 hrs. per day. Our second son, Paul, was born in Jerome, while we were living in Wendell, Feb. 27, 1957. John was nearly sixteen years old, and our girls were gone from home.

While in Wendell, I was President of the Lion’s Club and the Chamber of Commerce. Three business men there and I formed a Corporation and started a nursing home, known as Magic Valley Manor. In 1968, we sold our Mortuary and moved to Boise, where I obtained a Real Estate License, and I work part time selling Real Estate.

I had a severe Coronary Heart Attack in Nov. of 1969, and now just recovering from a Gall—Bladder operation. Hope this ends the illnesses for a while.

We have had nine grandchildren, but lost one darling little girl--(Renee’s). Anne has five—3 boys and 2 girls; Renee and John have each bad a boy and a girl. Anne is an R. N. and lives in San Jose. Renee is an Executive Secretary, and lives in Studio City. John graduated from U. of U. with a B. S. Degree in Business Administration, is an Accountant for Del Monte Corp. in S. F., Calif., and is Manager of Budgetary Control Section now. Paul is a Fuller Brush Salesman after school, half days on Sat., and during summers. He’s an excellent student, plans to graduate from Capitol High a year from Dec. (one-half yr. early). Also will finish his Eagle Scout requirements this week. It’s been a busy but rewarding forty-two years.
