Roger Maxwell Stephens, 65, died October 27, 1995 at his home in West Valley City following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born March 14, 1930 in Montpelier, Idaho, son of John Edwin and Louisa Perkins Stephens. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1949.  He married Jewell Arlene Deakin September 8, 1965 in Granger, Utah; later solemnized in Salt Lake LDS Temple. Retired after 30 years of service from the Veterans Medical Center.Survived by wife, West Valley City; daughters, Carol (Scott) Stone, Connie (Delbert) Sego, all of Kearns; Fawn (Alden) Stroud, West Jordan; Kim (Scott) Nydegger, Hyrum; Donna Wood, Clinton; son, Larry M. Stephens, West Valley City; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Earl, LaGrand, Dean, Sterling and Charles Stephens; sister, Shirley Wheatley. Preceded in death by sister, Ruth Nielson in 1994.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 12 noon, at the West Valley 4th Ward, 3963 South Peachwood Drive. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Monday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
