Norma Lewis (Savage) - Class of 1926

Norma Lewis Savage, age 95, passed away on April 4, 2003 in Orem, Utah. Norma was born on April 3, 1908 in Montpelier, Idaho. She was the third of seven daughters born to Grace Bridges and David Arthur Lewis. At the age of 19, Norma was called to serve in the North Central States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She married Joseph Smith Savage in the Salt Lake Temple on June 24, 1931. 

Norma and Joe lived in Philadelphia, PA, Rock Springs, WY, Salt Lake City and St. George, UT. Norma's sweetheart, Joe, passed away on September 24, 1973. In later years, Norma served a second mission; this time in the LDS Temple in London, England. She also worked in the St. George Temple and was a pink lady at the Dixie Regional Medical Center. 

Norma is survived by two daughters: Dorene Savage Hinckley (Gordon) Ewing, Las Cruces, NM; and JoAnne Savage (John) Querry, Waterville, KS. She has ten grandchildren: Alan Hinckley, Kathleen Hinckley, Carolyn Schramm, Josephine Fudge, David Hinckley, Ira Hinckley, Janae Gough, Scott Querry, Robert Ewing and Victoria Gaume; as well as four step-grandchildren: Steven Ewing, Rebecca Sims, Elizabeth Hansen and Willard Ewing. Norma has 24 great-grand-children; nine step-great-grand-children; and one great-great grand-daughter. Norma is also survived by one sister, Catherine Mumford Stout (Payson, Utah).

A viewing and gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, April 12, 2003 at 12 Noon in the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah. Interment will follow in the Elysian Gardens Cemetery, 1075 East 4580 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.
