Floyd Clark - Class of 1934

GEORGETOWN, Idaho— Melvin Floyd Clark, 85, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at his home in Georgetown, Idaho. 

He was born April 14, 1916 at Georgetown, Bear Lake, Idaho to Marvin E. and Alice Budge Clark. He grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Montpelier High School. He attended two years at U.S.A.C. in Logan and served a mission to Great Britain. 

Floyd went into the army in 1942 and served in the armored artillery for three years in the European Theater of operations. 

On June 10, 1946, he married Emma Jean Dalton in the Logan LDS Temple. To this union were born five children. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Floyd has served in many positions, including bishop for eight and a half years. He was currently serving as Stake Patriarch in the Montpelier, Idaho, Stake. 

Floyd is survived by his wife Emma Jean of Georgetown; five children, Karen Beck of Kearns, Utah, Scott F. Clark of Terre Haute, Indiana, Janet Clark of Idaho Falls, Robin Tyler of Georgetown, and Bette Sears of Oregon City, Oregon; a foster son, Volney Fasthorse of Solen, North Dakota; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a brother, Bruce B. Clark of Orem, Utah; two sisters, Roma Burbank of Bennington, Idaho, and Reola Clark of Briar Cliff, New York; and his stepmother, Beatrice Clark of Montpelier.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 9, at 11 a.m. in the Georgetown LDS Chapel. Burial will be in the Georgetown Idaho Cemetery.
