Thomas Kunz - Class of 1945

Information provided by VerJean Kunz:

Born July 2, 1927, passed away April 26, 1968 in an automobile accident. He was survived by his wife VerJean Williams Kunz and his children Turner Karl Kunz, Steven Kunz, Gregory Kunz, Luana Kunz, and by his parents, his brothers and his sisters. He served on an LDS mission in Hawaii, attended Utah State University and was a foreman at Monsanto Chemical Company. He was a farmer, a good husband and a loving father.

Thomas Girven Kunz, 40, was instantly killed in a headon car-truck collision April 26, 1968 at the summit of Georgetown divide.  He was returning home after completing his shift at the Monsanto plant in Soda Springs.  Mr. Kunz was born July 2, 1927 in Bern the son of Ruel and Irene Humpherys Kunz.  He spent his childhood in Bern and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1945.  After serving in the Navy for about one year, Mr. Kunz, who was an active member of the LDS Church fulfilled a mission in Hawaii.  He and VerJean Williams were marrried October 2, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  Besides his widow he is survived by three sons and one daughter.  Services were held in the Georgetown Ward Chapel.
