Jean Weaver (Jaussi Thompson) - Class of 1936

Our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother, and friend, Jean Weaver Jaussi Thompson, passed away March 8, 2002, surrounded by her loving family. Jean was born Nov. 19, 1919, to Franklin and Geneva Welker Weaver in Bennington, Idaho. She grew up in Montpelier, Idaho. She married Rolland L. Jaussi, January 3, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death February 18, 1974. She married Andrew Thompson in 1983.

Jean was an active member of the LDS Church serving with Rolland as Mission President of the North British Mission, Mission President of the Irish Mission, President of the LDS Mission Training Center in Salt Lake City, and as directors of the Mormon Battalion Visitors Center in San Diego. She also served in many ward callings.

She worked in the real estate business as a Real Estate Agent and owned and operated many of her own properties. She served her children, grandchildren and great-grand-children every day of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rolland; daughter, Diana; son-in-law, Dwight Utley; brother, James; and her parents. She is survived by her husband Andrew, Salt Lake City; sons James R. (Sherleen) Jaussi, Richfield, UT; and John L. (Sandy) Jaussi, Wanship, UT; brother Sterling Weaver, Tucson, AZ. 21 grandchildren and 32 great-grand-children.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 11, 2002, at 10 a.m. in the Taylorsville Valley Park 4th LDS Ward Chapel (2605 W. 4700 So.). Burial will be in the Wanship Utah City Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield, Utah.
