Carl Grandy - Class of 1936

Carl Rulon Grandy, 84, passed away on February 15, 2003 in Lake-view Hospital, Bountiful, Utah.He was born March 9, 1918 in Paris, Idaho to William Clarence and Mary Viola Bridges Grandy. He grew up in Paris and Montpelier, graduating from Montpelier High School where he served as Senior Class President. 

After graduation he attended the University of Utah prior to joining the military during World War II. He served as a sergeant in the US Army Air Corps. Following his career in Las Vegas, Nevada, he retired to the Salt Lake City area. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by two sisters--Mary Evelyn (Dennis) Young and Norma Jean Austin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Charles Willard, and brother-in-law, Lynn Austin. He will be remembered most for his unique sense of humor–especially his jokes. The family wishes to thank Life Care of Bountiful for their care and concern. 

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 19 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bountiful 20th Ward Chapel, 102 East 1400 South, with a viewing at 9:00 prior to the service. Interment at the Paris, Idaho Cemetery.
