Jed Roderick - Class of 1937

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Jeddie Hawkins Roderick, age 84, passed peacefully from this life Friday, October 4, 2002.Jed was born Sept 10, 1918, in Arbon, ID to David Price and Elizabeth Hawkins Roderick, the 13th of 15 children. He was raised in Montpelier, ID and married Dorthie Mae Robinson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple June 27, 1940. 

Jed served in the Navy during World War II and afterward pursued a career with the FAA as an electronic engineer. In his youth Jed participated in football, track, and boxing. He continued to run and exercise well into his seventies. He also enjoyed hunting, football games, skiing, and other outdoor recreation. Jed was a man who was devoted to his family. He gave freely of his time and skills to his many friends and family. After his retirement Jed and Dorthie served a mission for the LDS Church. They loved to travel and visit friends and family. 

Jed is survived by his wife, Dorthie; four children, David and Gaylene Roderick, Andrew and Marsha Gibbons, Kim and Terrie Roderick, Scott Roderick; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 14 bothers and sisters, and one granddaughter. 

Services will be Tues. Oct 8, 2002, 1 p.m., Bountiful 28th Ward Chapel, 2285 S. 200 W, Bountiful. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
