Myrtle Headlee (Goracke) - Class of 1937

Myrtle M. Goracke, 86, of Boise passed away September 21, 2002, at a local care center. Funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2002, at Cloverdale Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday 5 p.m.-8 p.m. also at Cloverdale Funeral Home. 

Myrtle was born January 17, 1916, in Montpelier, Idaho to Loren and Mary (McDonald) Headlee. In 1920 her dad Loren passed away which left her mother Mary to raise her two children Myrtle and Jimmy. They both received their education in Montpelier. In 1939, Myrtle married Felix Goracke in Boise. Later in 1943, they built their home in Boise where they raised their four children. 

Traveling to the Oregon Coast, bowling, crocheting, crafts, and helping others were some of her favorite things to do. She also loved to volunteer which she did frequently. She was a 4-H leader, a Head Start volunteer, and a volunteer for Helping Hands that was a gleaning group to provide food to the needy. She also was a charter member of Good Sports that assisted handicapped athletes with indoor sports. Myrtle devoted her life to being a caregiver. 

She is survived by her daughters, M. Lynne Lang of Spokane, Wash., Kathleen Goracke and Charleen Goracke-Hill of Boise, Idaho, Grandchildren Kelli (Wes) Pemble of Spokane, Wash. Tim Lang of Spokane, Wash., Jennifer (Ray) Duke of Fallon, Nev., Shawn Hill of Boise, Idaho, Brian Hill of Las Vegas, Nev., Great-Grandchildren; Kelsi and Kara Pemble, and Cody Lang all of Spokane, Wash., Haley Ray Duke of Fallen, Nev., Sativa and Jade Hill of Boise, Idaho, Niece Mary Jo Headlee (Ron) Cole, and numerous great nieces and great nephews. 

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Goracke, son Lyle Goracke, and her brother James Headlee. The light of Myrtles life was her Grandchildren and her Great Grandchildren whom she loved so dearly as well as the children she baby sat as they grew up. Myrtle will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
