Ruth Tueller (Spring) - Class of 1937

Ruth Tueller Spring, 83, passed away October 18, 2003 at the Davis Medical Center, Layton, UT. Ruth was born Nov 11, 1919 in Montpelier, ID to Arnold Charles and Grace Elizabeth Sims Tueller. Ruth graduated from Montpelier High School, 1937. In 1940 she was married to Blair K. Poulsen and they had four children. They later divorced and she married Darvel S. Spring on the first day of Spring, 1949. 

Ruth worked more than 20 years as the secretary for the Dean of Engineering at USU. She also spent time working at the bank and travel agen-cy in Smithfield. She was the county president of the DUP and gave many monthly lessons in Summit Camp. Ruth belonged to the same pinochle club for over 50 years. She loved cooking, knitting, crocheting, and made the best bread west of the Mississippi. 

Ruth was a member of the LDS Church and served in many various callings. She lived in Cache Valley until her husband, Darvel, passed away in 2001. She moved to Chancellor Gardens Assisted Living, Clearfield where she spent the remainder of her life. 

Ruth is survived by her children, Billie (Paul) Buttars, Smithfield, UT, Ruth Anne Poulsen, Grand Junction, CO, Brenda (Pete) Jones, Sandy, UT, Russ (J.J.) Poulsen, West Jordan, UT, Julie (Alan) Hansen, Grace, ID, Brad (Patty) Spring, Salt Lake City, UT, Dorene E. Hymas, Montpelier, ID, Greg Spring, Layton, UT; brother, Charles; sisters, Georgea, Dona, Beverly; 24 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. Her husband; son, Thomas Arnold; parents; brothers, Bill, Jack; and great-grandson, Fuzzy, preceded her in death. The family of Ruth wishes to thank the staff at Chancellor Gardens for the loving and wonderful care they gave our mom. Thank you to Dr. Reis and staff for their care and concern. 

Graveside services will be Wed. Oct 22, 2003, 12 noon Smithfield City Cemetery.
