Thora Krogue (Larson) - Class of 1939

KAYSVILLE, UT – Thora Bertha Krogue Larson, 87, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield, Utah. She was born to Angus and Bertha Krogue on July 19, 1921 in Montpelier, Idaho.

She married A. Reed Larson in the Logan Temple on November 7, 1947. She has lived in Ogden, UT, Las Vegas and Hiko, NV.

She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her great faith resulted in many miracles. She dedicated her life to the service of others and she shared her “thumbs-up” positive attitude with everyone. In 1978 she was Clark County Nevada’s Humanitarian Mother of the Year. For many years she was a service missionary at the Las Vegas Deseret Industries. Her Christ-like example has touched many lives.

Thora is survived by her brother, Elmer Krogue, and her five children: Marie (Richard) Scadden, Charlene (Douglas) Lamoreaux, Nadine (Mervin) Peterson, Harold (Shannon) Larson, and Lynette (Jack) Burns; 25 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, one sister, and one great-grandson.

Our family would like to thank the staff at Rocky Mountain Care Center and Hospice for providing loving care to our “Granny” Thora.

Funeral services for Thora will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada next week under the direction of La Paloma Funeral Services.
