IDAHO STATE JOURNAL 11-04-1999
MONTPELIER - Jack Junior Adams, 78, left us peacefully in his sleep on Nov. 1, 1999 while in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 30, 1921 in Montpelier, Idaho to John D. and Alice Crawford Adams. He attended school in Montpelier, and immediately after graduating he joined the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in Pendleton, Oregon, serving as an air control tower operator. He was then transferred to the Aleutian Islands as a staff sergeant. He then returned to Hill Air Force Base, Utah, as a control tower operator. He received an honorable discharge on Sept. 30, 1945.

During his duty at Hill Air Force Base he met Donna Easton, and they were married on June 8, 1945. They later divorced. During this marriage six children were born.

Jack worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 34 years as a fireman engineer. He was also known as "Scrap Iron Jack." He retired in 1982.

In 1969 Jack met Tiny Pullman, and became lifetime soul mates. They settled in Montpelier and spent many years fishing and traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. They spent the last 14 years in Hemet, California, as they preferred the sun over snow any day.

Tiny has been a wonderful friend and mate. She gave him excellent medical care during his last couple of years. Jack loved to golf and was very proud of his children.

He is survived by his mate, Tiny; four sons, Mike and Lori Adams, Mark and Lynette Adams, Jack and Cheri Adams, Jeff Adams; two daughters, Sandra Smith and Kathy and Steve Lefler; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Todd Adams, and two granddaughters, Andrea Dawn Adams and Angie Wooley.

Graveside services will be held in Montpelier Cemetery on Saturday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. Jack's wishes for cremation will then take place and his ashes will be interred in the cemetery at a later date, with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary.
