Lewis Teuscher - Class of 1946

MONTPELIER — Lewis John Teuscher, 78, passed away early Sunday morning on May 28, 2006, in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a lifelong Montpelier resident, he was born Feb. 13, 1928, to John Henry and Gertrude Frances Lewis Teuscher. Lewis was happily married 53 years to his eternal companion, Glenda Mae Pickerell, in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they had eight beautiful children.

Lewis graduated from Montpelier High School and joined the U.S. Army where he served in Japan. He graduated from Utah State University as well as Brigham Young University. He served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Central States Mission. He was an active member of the Lions Club, coached Little League baseball, youth basketball, and spent many successful years as a scoutmaster.

He followed his passion of teaching and administration for 34 years. Even after retirement, he was never able to leave his passion behind as he continued working with the children during lunch and recess. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he fulfilled many spiritual callings.

Lewis is survived by his ever loving wife, Glenda, and seven children, John (Caryn), Kathy Ames, Bruce (Lynette), Lynn (Linda), Wayne (Nancy), Mary (Stan) Allred, James (Lisa), 26 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two sisters, Norinne (Blaine) Kunz and Doris (Keith) Hymas. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Roy Teuscher, and his parents, John and Gertrude Teuscher.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 3, at 2 p.m. in the Montpelier Third Ward Chapel. The interment will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
