Salt Lake Tribune, 05/13/08

North Ogden = On May 10th, being held by her family, our precious Doris B. Moffitt passed from this life into the loving arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior. Doris was born August 17, 1929 in Torrance, CA to Laurence Snyder and Geneva Rogers Bowman, the fourth of six children. Growing up she lived in Grand Junction CO, Ogden, Layton, Tooele and Clearfield, Utah and Montpelier, ID, graduating from Montpelier High School in 1947. Doris started working at the Naval Supply Depot, where she met the love of her life, Edward "Bud" Moffitt and they were married on June 4, 1949. She moved to Hill Air Force Base and worked there until her retirement in 1984. In 1987, after 37 years of marriage, "Bud" passed away and in 1989 she received Jesus as her Lord and Savior and began her walk with Him. After retiring, Doris moved to St. George, UT and spent her remaining years giving of herself and serving others. She volunteered at the hospital, thrift store and served two volunteer missions for her church at Sheldon Jackson College in Sitka, Alaska. For many years Doris designed, sewed and donated hundreds of hand stitched ultra suede sweatshirts to many local charities. In 2005 she moved to North Ogden to be close to her family. Doris is survived by her sons, Kelly (Julie) Moffitt, North Ogden; Phil (Lesa) Moffitt, Littleton, CO; grandchildren, Kolby, Ryan, Darren, Quisto, Chad, Anna and Christina; great-granddaughter Ruby.
