Eldora Windley (Reynolds) - Class of 1948

Eldora Windley Reynolds, 70, passed away April 13, 2000 in Portland, Oregon. She was born June 22, 1929 in Montpelier, Idaho to Vernest F. Windley and Emma Hansen Windley. She married Robert Reynolds in 1966.

She lived in Montpelier until 1960 when she moved to Boise, Idaho. She then moved to Denver, Colorado shortly thereafter, beginning a lifetime career with Montgomery Ward. While in Denver, she met her husband. Together, they moved to Portland in 1966. She lived a very happy and full life in Portland, becoming a beloved friend to many in her community. She loved gardening and had quite a beautiful garden that was enjoyed by her entire neighborhood.

She was a proud descendant of two Bear Lake Pioneer families, the Windleys and the Hansens. Her great-grandfather, John Windley and his family, were one of the first families to settle in St. Charles, Idaho. Her maternal grandparents were Charles A. and Emma Vilate Hansen of Garden City, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a brother, Vernest Eugene Windley.

She is survived by her brother, Thomas G. Windley of Salt Lake City, Utah, one niece, Marsha Windley Curtis of Boise, Idaho, two nephews, Michael E. Windley of Tacoma, Washington and Jerry T. Windley of San Francisco, California, four uncles, Russell Hansen of Garden City, Utah, Jack Hansen of Paris, Idaho, and LaVarr Hansen and LeRoy Hansen, both of Ogden, Utah.

A small memorial service was held April 18th. Internment was in Portland, Oregon.
