Vincent Jack Adams - Class of 1958

Jack Adams, 48, owner-operator of the Heidelberg Bar, died of a heart attack on Thursday, October 13, 1988, shortly after hitting a home run during a softball game in his home of Great Falls, Montana. Vincent was born March 12, 1940 in Montpelier, the son of Vincent D. (Buster) and Edith Hayes Adams. He graduated from Montpelier HIgh School in 1958 and moved to Great Falls where he was a carpenter for contractor Bill Kessner. He then was a driver and salesman for Devine and Asselstine Inc. He went into the bar business 15 years ago and for the past 12 years had owned and operated the Heidelberg. He was an avid sports fan and a Little League coach. He married Susan DeWitt in 1960 in Fort Benton. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Marty (Laurie Sue) Lyders of Chester; sons, Vincent Craig Adams of Los Angeles and Scott Richard Adams of Great Falls; sisters, Mrs. George (Thelma) Kinyon of Redmond, Or., Mrs. Harvey (Cecelia) Gittins of Great Falls, Mrs. Dennis (Nancy) Wilkes of Preston, Mrs. Bruce (Doris) Bauman of Geneva, and Mrs. Bob (Alpha Jean) House of Montpelier and two grandchildren. His parents, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Oct. 17, in Great Falls at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial. Entombment was in Hillcrest Lawn Mausoleum. Croxford and Sons Mortuary was in charge. 

Ron Peterson describes Jack as an older brother Ron never had and authored an unpublished document entitled "Boyhood Remembrances of My Pal Jack" which was presented to Jack's three children in 1998, the ten year anniversary of his passing.
