VoNetta Jensen - Class of 1956

MONTPELIER,Idaho—VonNetta Jensen, 72, passed away on December 23, 2009, at Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Facility after a brief illness. She was born on April 24, 1937, to Rosetta and LeGrand Jensen at Montpelier Hospital. They lived in the Dingle and Montpelier area. She graduated from Montpelier High School on May 25, 1956. Upon the death of her father, LeGrand, her mother married William Salveson, and the three of them lived together in Montpelier.

VonNetta was an active member of TOPS and eventually lost 100 pounds, which she maintained for several years.

VonNetta had many hobbies, including crocheting beautiful afghans, embroidering towels, etc… In later years she enjoyed TV, movies, hand held games, and reading.

In April 2004 VonNetta moved to the Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Facility to reside with her mother, who was unable to return home after surgery. They shared a room, and VonNetta kept in close contact with her old friends by phone, and they would come to visit whenever they could.

VonNetta was preceded in death by her father, LeGrand Jensen, and stepfather, William Salveson. She is survived by her mother, Rosetta Salveson, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins from California, Texas, and Utah.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at 12:00 Noon at the Montpelier 4th Ward LDS Church. Interment will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
