Lois Loertscher (Granato)

Lois Granato passed away August 9, 2001 at the Community Regional Hospital in Missoula, Montana as the result of complications following thyroid surgery.

Lois married Joe M. Granato October 21, 1972 in Montpelier, Bear Lake, Idaho. They have two wonderful sons, Anthony Joseph (24), Portland, Oregon, and Nicholas James (18) of Sandy, Utah. Lois was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She loved her sons with all her heart and would do anything for them. She was the perfect mother to her sons. As a wife, she was the best any man could ask for.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Louise Loertscher and her brother, Robert. In addition to her husband Joe, and her sons Tony and Nick, Lois leaves behind three brothers, Paul Loertscher, Grant (Teresa) Loertscher of Montpelier, Idaho, and David (Angie) Loertscher, Hyrum, Utah; five sisters, Mrs. Merrill (Ruth Ann) Sargent, West Valley City, Utah, Jenny Weaver, Mrs. David (Kathryn) Brough, Alice Kunz, Montpelier, Idaho, and Mrs. Brent (Sandra) Kunz of Georgetown, Idaho. Lois was dear to her aunts and uncles, Elizabeth Beeh, Salt Lake City; Fred Loertscher, Montpelier, ID, Geraldine Loertscher, Karma Loertscher, Geneva, ID, Forrest and Pauline Dayton, Dingle, ID, Valerie Childs, West Jordan, UT and many nieces and nephews.

With her husband Joe, she built a successful retail business, Spoons 'n Spice which she gave so much of her time and energy. Lois took pride in her store and in the success that she, her husband and sons have achieved.

Lois loved horses and any stray animal that came her way. She spent many hours with her sons, nieces and nephews in exploring the great outdoors. There was always room for one more cousin no matter the destination. Lois was the kindest, most gentle person who always was concerned with others. She never put herself first and was always giving to others. She will be dearly missed. Lois was a member of the LDS Church and had a strong belief in God and Jesus Christ. They have taken her to a better place.

Funeral services were held Monday, August, 13, 2001 in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 10600 South 1700 East, Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
