Christine Buhler (Costalez) - Class of 1963

Christine Ann Costalez lost her battle with cancer July 26th, 2013 surrounded by love from her son, Patrick & her best friend, Jean Alleman. She was born Oct 3, 1944 in Montpelier, ID by Helen & Norman Buhler. The third of six children, Christine quickly stepped into caretaker for her siblings, Ivan Buhler, Betty Eisel, Doug Buhler, Roberta Pell & Nina Varner. She was born in Soda Springs & graduated in Montpelier. Her travels led her throughout South Eastern Idaho.

One such adventure took her to Worland, Wy where she married Harold Costalez & had the four coolest kids ever. Her firstborn, Jenny Bunn, married to Jason Bunn, remembers her family vacations & gave Christine grandsons, Garrett & Tyrel. Second born & much rejoiced, Carrie Ruffing cherished baking with her mom & tagging along with Christine to her college classes, where Christine attended Utah State University in Logan, UT. Christine added Nora & Trever to her assortment of grandchildren. Her only son, Patrick Costalez, was never far from her side. She often took him to visit relatives conveying family wisdom. Ever her baby, Iesha Costalez, admires Christine's resourcefulness & the times camping will never be forgotten. Christine completed her grand baby collection with TeAnna & Wyatt. She is survived by many nieces & nephews.

She left Wyoming & returned to Idaho forever, where she could pursue her many hobbies. Christine's love of variety & creativity shown joyfully through her paintings, crocheting, collections & genealogy. Her competitive nature presented itself though Scrabble, Pinochle & Bingo. Christine immersed herself in LDS Church works & relief society. Her calling to the Women of Veterans of Foreign Wars was met with fortitude befitting of her love of History. She also lent her strength to the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, fondly recalling exploits with her cohorts, Jean Alleman & KaeLue Knutti. Christine was an outstanding baker & crafter. Her wisdom & wit will be missed by all. Goodbye Mother, Sister, Daughter, Grandma, Aunt & Friend. You were a rare gem among treasure.

Grave-side services were held August 1, 2013 t at the Bennington Cemetery.
