Gloria Crossley (Wixom) - Class of 1962

Gloria Crossley Wixom, 57, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, in Bear Lake Memorial Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Feb. 21, 1944, in Montpelier to Ephriam and Helen Bourne Crossley. She grew up with two brothers, Winston and Kevin, and one sister, Vickey. She attended grade school in Georgetown, and high school in Montpelier, where she graduated in May 1962.

On Sept. 14, 1962, she married Dale Wixom, and together they raised one girl and four boys, who kept her
busy through her life. Gloria enjoyed her family and helping them very much.

She was a woman of many talents. She was an accomplished horsewoman who loved to ride horses and
work cattle. She was an animal lover and enjoyed working with them. Gloria worked on the county fair board
for several years, helping with queen contests and the parades. She also worked at the stockyards as a
weigh master from 1999 to 2001.

She loved to bowl, and worked at Jolara Lanes. She enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors, and served for
several years on the city beautification committee. She was a great photographer who enjoyed life and
capturing the moment. Gloria greatly enjoyed helping and doing for others who needed help, and her family
loved and respected her dearly. She was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Dale, of Montpelier; five children, Debby (Spencer) Hart of Montpelier, Jeff
(Michelle) Wixom of Green River, Wyoming, Gary (Trisha) Wixom, Jarrod (Kathryn) Wixom, both of
Montpelier, Chad (Brandie Stoddard) Wixom of Dingle, Idaho; five grandchildren (two boys and three girls);
one great-grandchild; her mother, Helen Crossley of Kuna, Idaho; a sister, Vickey (Steve) Tippets of Boise,
Idaho; and a brother, Kevin Crossley of Kuna, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother,
Winston.

Funeral services were held Oct. 6, 2001 in the Montpelier Second Ward Chapel.
