Jerry Williams (1959)

Bill was not only a good athlete, he was a good drummer.  Bill purchased a used set of drums.  Then he decided to head up a dance band.  Bill Hymas - drums, Dean Swensen - piano, Larry Rigby - trumpet, and Jerry Williams - Alto Sax.  Bill's base drum had a "devil" painted on the drum face, so we decided to call ourselves "The Inferno Four."  (We sounded like hell.)  We didn't know enough tunes to carry us all the way through a dance, so we would repeat - the slow songs fast, and the fast songs slow and then one of us would sing.  We played for some high school dances at $100 a gig--big money for all of us in those days.

Bill is a great guy and a good friend!  We miss him.
