In Memory

Linda Bailey (Osgood) - Class of 1958

Linda Bailey Osgood passed away Monday, July 21, 2008, in Caldwell, Idaho, with her family at her side. Linda was born March 15, 1940, in Dingle, Idaho, to Daniel Warren Bailey and Marie Sparks Bailey. She attended school in Bear Lake, Idaho, and then LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She grew up with many family and cousins nearby who were always close to her heart.

Larry and Linda met in Montpelier, Idaho, in 1958, while Larry was surveying and Linda was waitressing at the Burgoyne Cafe. They were married on March 7, 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They moved to Montpelier in 1960, where their son Jeff was born and daughter Lori in 1962, settling in Caldwell in 1970, where they currently reside. Linda has been a wonderful wife, mother, caregiver and friend. In 1982 after Larry's accident, their lives changed forever. Linda stepped up to the challenge and nursed him back to independence. Despite obstacles, they have enjoyed many trips to Disneyland with the grandchildren and cruises to the Caribbean.
Linda rediscovered golf and played daily at Purple Sage with her friends Markey Hawthorne and Leona Nix. She took great pride in completing 18 holes of golf in less than three hours. She holds the family record with four holes-in-one.

She volunteered at the schools and received the "friends of education" award and also volunteered at the Boise Open, Nationwide golf event. She had many friends and was known as "grandma" to many. She crocheted, loved competitive board games, fishing and life. Every holiday her house and yard were legendary.

Survived by her husband Larry, son Jeff and wife Renee, daughter Lori Moser and husband Keith, grandchildren Brandi Wilbur, Ashley Wilbur-Hoobery, Brooke Osgood-Fukuoka, Tyler Osgood and Logan Moser; brother Terry Bailey and wife Bea, sister Vickie Gruver and husband Bud and numerous nieces and nephews.

To quote Linda, "After someone dies, you always make them a hero." Linda, you made it easy for us to make you our hero.

Cremation was under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
