Lenard Williams - Class of 1958

Lenard David Williams, 65, passed away Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, at his home in Mendon surrounded by his
loving family. He fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born March 9, 1940, in
Montpelier, Idaho, to David Lyndon Williams and Golda Lorena Pugmire.

Lenard attended the Montpelier-area schools and graduated from Bear Lake High School. He married Lois
Hemmert in the Logan LDS Temple on June 1, 1960. Together they had four children, David, Joyce, Dawn
and Daniel. They were later divorced. He married Lora Hirsbrunner Keetch on March 10, 1978, and played
an important part in helping raise Lora's children from a previous marriage.

In his younger years, he raced snowmobiles. He enjoyed horseback riding and camping and had a great
love for flying his airplanes and helicopters and giving others rides. He received the most enjoyment from
helping others around him.

Throughout the years, Lenard has been employed in different occupations. He spent several years in a
sawmill business in Cache Valley and Heber city. He was employed by Flare Construction and Reese's
Metal Works in Coalville, Utah, as a pipeline welder, until he suffered a back injury in 1989.

Lenard was a faithful and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in
many callings, including a ward clerk, stake missionary (twice), home teacher and on the activities
committee.

He is survived by his wife, Lora; children, James (Shellie) Keetch of Coalville, Utah, Dawn (Perry) Berensen
of Lincoln, Calif., Danny Schwerdt of Vallejo, Calif., Stacie (Kelly) Wright of Morgan, Utah, and Linda
(Russel) Preece of Smithfield. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his parents, two sisters at infancy, his only brother, an infant son, a daughter and a
stepdaughter.

Funeral services were held Dec. 9, 2005 at the Mendon 1st Ward chapel, 20 N. 100 West. Interment was in the Wardboro, Idaho Cemetery.
