Russell Grant Boehme died on December 1, 2012, at the age of 90 in Montpelier, Idaho. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick William Boehme and Etta May Tueller, six of his nine siblings, his wife, Elma Tonks, and his daughter, Sandra.

He was born in Geneva, Idaho on August 2, 1922, and was married in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, on November 14, 1945.

He has seven surviving children, Brent Russell (Sandra), Jerry Wayne (Karen), Sheryl, Garth Tonks (Denise), Grant William (Trudy), Randy Glen (Laurie) and Janel. He has 28 grandchildren and 34 and one on the way greatgrandchildren.

He grew up on his father's farm in Geneva, graduated from Montpelier High School and followed his grandfather and father into farming. His grandfather was one of the first settlers of the Geneva Valley and pioneered many of the agricultural practices still in use today.

In 1950, Russell was called to be the bishop of the Geneva Ward at the young age of 27. He served there for six years, during which time the Geneva meeting house was expanded. Following his time as bishop, he served on the high council of the Montpelier, Idaho Stake, where he served for over 18 years. He continued his church service with the stake Sunday school and as a stake missionary with his wife as his companion. He also served as president of the Bear Lake Memorial Nursing Home branch.

Russell and his wife hosted 11 Native American and foreign exchange students over the years in addition to raising their own children.

Russell loved his family, his farm, his Heavenly Father and serving others.

Funeral services were held in the Geneva, Idaho, Ward Chapel on December 8, 2012. Burial in the Geneva, Idaho cemetery.
