Amos Michael Wright, 74, loving husband, father, brother and awesome grandpa, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 23, 2012. He was born on March 15, 1938 in Bennington, Idaho to Grant and Julia Crane Wright. He was the youngest of four children raised on the family farm, where he learned how to work hard and he never quit.

Mike received his bachelor and master's degrees in education from Utah State University. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.

He worked for 34 years in the Weber School District as a teacher, coach and administrator. He served as Vice Principal at Weber High and Principal at North Ogden Junior High.

While at Utah State he met his wife, Annette Maycock. They were married on July 18, 1958 in the Logan LDS Temple. They moved to Pleasant View in 1964, where they raised four children.

Mike was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in various callings. He and Annette served in the New Hampshire, Manchester Mission at the Joseph Smith Birthplace Memorial. He also served as an ordinance worker at the Ogden LDS Temple.

He loved farming, tractors, fishing, family parties, horses, singing, pulling his grandkids behind the boat, actually anything with his grandkids. He also loved working on the farm and collecting unique rocks for the past few years with his son, Douglas.

Mike will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Annette; daughters, Kathy (Drew) Miller of South Weber; Kristynn (Tom) Runyan of Meridian, ID; son, Douglas Wright of Pleasant View; grandkids, Megan Miller, Jared (Jacqueline) Miller, Matthew (Kristen) Miller, Jenessa (Neil) Bridenstine, Mandie (Colby) Bentley, Lindsey (Jeff) Christofferson, Nathan (Brooke) Runyan, Tanner Runyan, Shae Wright, Hailee Wright; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Beth Reddington and Winnie Mae Freeman; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angie; parents and brother, Jerry.

Funeral services were held on October 27, 2012 at the Pleasant View Stake Center, 2975 North 1000 West, Ogden, Utah. Interment Ben Lomand Cemetery, North Ogden.
