LeGrand "Lee" Rigby, 74, longtime resident of Bear Lake County and St. George, Utah, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 5, 2009. He was born May 22, 1934, in Brigham City, Utah, to Ivan and Josephine Rigby. He graduated from Montpelier High School and attended the University of Idaho, where he met his wife of 54 years, Sarah Dailey, who survives; as well as sons, Shane and Bart (Sari); and daughter, Carmela; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry; and two sisters Cleone Cochran, and Ione Hancock. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Kay and Don and grandsons, Jason and Calvin.

Lee loved the farm and was proud of beautiful cattle and crops, and next best was the chance to build homes and sheds. He laughed about leaving hammer dents in lots of buildings around the county.

Always generous with his time and talents, he volunteered for 15 years with the ambulance service, served a term as county commissioner and after retirement worked every year with the Montpelier beautification committee to keep flowers on Main Street.

Lee and Sarah built a cute little home in St. George, Utah, where they spent winters. They greatly enjoyed the opportunity to travel to Alaska, China, Australia, and throughout the U.S.

Funeral services were held on Friday, April 10, 2009 at the Montpelier First Ward LDS Chapel. Interment was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
