Janice Evans (Dunn) - Class of 1952

Janice Merle Evans Dunn, cherished daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, passed away on October 3, 2007. Her spirit will be with us here and we celebrate knowing she is reunited with the mother and father that she loved and missed dearly. She was born May 4, 1934 in Wendell, ID the daughter of Herbert and Roberta Evans. Janice married Richard Q. Dunn and later divorced. Janice was devoted to music and as a talented, passionate pianist and organist, was able to share that love with others.

Both of her sons, Randy and Michael took music lessons and she taught each of her grandchildren to play her prized piano that was her graduation gift. She held various positions in the church playing the organ and piano. Her skills and talents allowed her to be a valuable asset to the Bountiful Police Department and the community as she served for over 29 years as dispatcher and was promoted to detective secretary. She took great pride and satisfaction in this work and felt accomplished at the time of her retirement.

Janice was an active and spirited mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt as she organized numerous activities that involved painting pumpkins, making ornaments, playing dress up, swimming and lots of laughter. She was a constant support at games, competitions, playground trips, and any other opportunities to celebrate the ones she loved. Bear Lake was a treasured place for her and she enjoyed the outdoors and long drives listening to classical music.

She is survived by her sons, Randy (Earlene) Dunn and Michael Dunn; brother Bob (Marlys) Evans; grandchildren Angela (Scott) Gardner, Joshua Dunn, and Jessica Dunn; great-grandchildren, Tayla Anne, Sophia Rose and Oliviah Michelle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
