Shirley Mable Buhler was born in Bern, Idaho, the daughter of Harold Rutherford and Zylpha Harris Buhler. She married Kenneth Vandarlin August 28, 1952 in Soda Springs, Idaho. They were later divorced. She then married Paul Bolton October 30, 1954 in Pocatello. She died May 8, 1999 in Lincoln City,  Oregon and she was buried in the Wendover Cemetery in Wendover, Utah.
